Cúinne Caird opened at Representative Church Body Library

The life and legacy of the late Bishop Donald Caird (1925–2017) was remembered on Saturday (14 September) when the Cúinne Caird was opened in his memory at the Representative Church Body Library – the Church of Ireland’s central reference library and repository of archives.

RCB Library acquisitions – a resource for local and family history

Each year, the RCB Library’s managing committee – the Library and Archives Committee – delivers an annual report of the Library’s recent activities and developments to the General Synod, the governing body of the Church of Ireland. The report includes a detailed appendix of all of the acquisitions that came into the Library’s custody and were processed throughout the previous year.

Online release of the digitized Alen Register showcases pre–Reformation world in Dublin & Glendalough

As the RCB Library continues its efforts to digitize and make more resources available to a worldwide audience, a second of its most significant medieval manuscripts: the Liber Niger Alani being the record of John Alen (c.1476–1534), Archbishop of Dublin and Glendalough, 1530–34 (RCB Library D6/3) is now digitally available for public consultation on the Church of Ireland website.
