A call to action on homelessness

A call to action on homelessness and housing insecurity has been issued by the Irish Inter–Church Meeting, which brings together church leaders from across the island of Ireland.

This is accompanied by a range of related resources to help Churches (at a local or wider level) to understand and take action on the difficulties facing people without secure housing in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

These include:

– three videos;

– a small group study and prayer liturgy; and

– questions for canvassing politicians (in the Republic and in Northern Ireland)

All of the above are available online at www.irishchurches.org/homeless and parishes can order hard copy resources from Damian Jackson at damian@irishchurches.org

The launch of the initiative in Christ Church, Dun Laoghaire, was attended by representatives from the Church of Ireland’s Church and Society Commission.
