Archbishop of Armagh on NI Education, General Synod
In his speech seconding the Board of Education Reports to the General Synod of the Church of Ireland 2009, Friday 8 May, the Most Revd Alan Harper, OBE, said that it was the Church’s aim ‘to develop, along with other churches, a clear and shared vision of education shaped by the core values of the Christian faith’.

Transferor Representatives' Council Statement on Transfer Impasse
The Education spokespersons for the three main protestant churches in Northern Ireland record their 'intense disappointment that the necessary political will did not exist to at least find an accommodation on an agreed and regulated interim arrangement for transfer' and call for a Working Group on Transfer to build consensus. The Transferor Representatives' Council (TRC) has welcomed the retention of the right of the Protestant Churches to nominate governors for Controlled schools within legislation introduced to establish the Education and Skills Authority (ESA).
