Incumbent – Douglas Union of Parishes with Frankfield (Diocese of Cork, Cloyne & Ross)

This mostly suburban parish – Douglas Union, with Frankfield – to the south of Cork City will soon become vacant following the election of the present incumbent to the Bishopric of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.

There are four churches (all in good repair and well–maintained) serving this parish of 431 households.

An experienced priest is required for this busy and growing parish who

  • is a faithful pastor
  • will lead supportively and imaginatively
  • will nurture and facilitate ministry and outreach
  • will assist the parish in meeting the challenges facing the Church in our day

The rector shares ministry with a curate–assistant, a retired non–stipendiary priest, four diocesan readers, as well as active and supportive parishioners.

There are two parish primary schools. In addition to good ecumenical relations, and active community involvement, the parish organisations include Choir, Sunday School, a Book Club and Boys’ Brigade.

The five–bedroomed Rectory is within walking distance of Douglas village.
