Queen’s 70th Jubilee Resources

Queen’s 70th Jubilee Resources

The Liturgical Advisory Committee (LAC) of the Church of Ireland has published a set of resources for use in parishes at services celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

The material which includes prayers, suggested readings and Eucharistic propers is intended to assist clergy, readers and other worship leaders as they prepare services to mark this significant national event. The Platinum Jubilee Weekend begins on Thursday, 2nd June, with a two–day public holiday in Northern Ireland, and concludes on Sunday, 5th June – the Day of Pentecost.

Speaking as the resources were published, the Revd Adrian Dorrian (Chaplain to the LAC) said:

“The Platinum Jubilee will be marked in lots of different ways in our churches – social and community events, exhibitions and other innovative activities. Many churches will host acts of worship celebrating the Queen’s reign and praying for civic life.  The Sunday of the Jubilee Weekend, 5th June, is the Day of Pentecost – parishes will wish to consider how best to integrate a Jubilee Service if it is taking place on this principal holy day. We hope these resources will be of benefit to those planning such services.”
