Say ‘Thank you’

This is so simple and effective, yet is often forgotten!

Sending a message of thanks to parishioners provides an opportunity to explain how their giving will enable the Church to fulfil its mission and ministry. It is important to link the giving with the parish’s mission priorities, and the impact it will have on the parish community. Saying thank you also helps our parishioners to know that, no matter how big or small, their gifts are valued by the Church.

It is good practice to write an annual thank you letter to all planned givers, and perhaps also after a specific ‘giving’ event to those who have contributed, financially or in other ways. Expressing gratitude and appreciation encourages people to keep giving generously.
