RCB Library lantern slides: tour of Palestine

The Representative Church Body Library – which serves as the Church of Ireland’s central archive repository – holds a large collection of lantern slides from the late 19th and early 20th centuries which have been donated for safe keeping. Many have been digitized to protect their quality and can be viewed in our online photo gallery.

Throughout this week, we are highlighting five themes from our collections. Today, we’ll be taking a tour of Palestine around 1912. focus on places, with scenes from travels in Ireland and continental Europe. And tomorrow, we’ll finish at the Irish International Exhibition in Dublin in 1907.
