A total of 24 people have entered into ordained ministry in the Church of Ireland following 11 Services of Ordination across the island in recent months.

Of these, 13 have been ordained for the new Ordained Local Ministry, as deacons, three have been ordained as deacons for internships in parishes, and eight have been ordained to the priesthood.  A photo gallery from this year’s ordinations is available below.

The Church prays for those considering training for ordination in the following collect from the Book of Common Prayer:

Almighty God, you have entrusted to your Church a share in the ministry of your Son our great High Priest: Inspire by your Holy Spirit the hearts of many to offer themselves for ordination in your Church, that strengthened by his power, they may work for the increase of your kingdom and set forward the eternal praise of your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
