Every Christian is a minister! Lay ministry
covers an enormously wide variety of expressions, including acts of
pastoral care, charitable service and supportive prayer. A significant
proportion of this ministry is therefore informal, organic and even
unrecognised.
Opportunities in the Church of Ireland can include
youth workers, lay readers, missionaries, musicians and educators.
Chaplains may be lay or ordained, working in hospitals, schools,
prisons, universities and in the military. Please check out our Vocations website for an article on this and also a range of Vocation Sunday resources.
