A Visual Window to an Ecclesiastical World
Tuesday–Friday until 30th August
An exhibition of the Church’s historical architectural drawings at the Irish Architectural Archive (IAA), 45 Merrion Square, Dublin. Admission is free.
Tuesday, 20th August – Friday, 23rd August
A lunchtime lecture series will run at the Irish Architectural Archive during Heritage Week. The lectures will take place at 1pm each day and cover the identity of the Church of Ireland, its architectural drawing collections, liturgical space, and restorations and representations of the Church in 19th–century Ireland.
Tuesday, 20th August & Thursday, 22nd August
A walking tour with Dr Michael O’Neill FSA (architectural historian) discussing Disestablishment, and looking at the Cathedrals of Christ Church and St Patrick’s and adjacent parish churches and how they reflect this event.
Royal Irish Academy Conference

A half–day Royal Irish Academy conference produced in partnership with the Church, focusing on the concepts of Establishment and Disestablishment, the consequences for the first century, challenges since 1969 and the future of the Church.
