Church of Ireland architectural drawings exhibition under way

A Visual Window to an Ecclesiastical World – an exhibition of the Church of Ireland’s historical architectural drawings – is continuing at the Irish Architectural Archive (IAA), 45 Merrion Square, Dublin.  Admission is free and the exhibition will be open Tuesday–Friday until 30th August.  This forms part of the Church of Ireland’s programme of events to mark the 150th anniversary of its Disestablishment.

Please click here for a summary of the launch night in May.  The exhibition includes the recently repaired and conserved early 19th–century map of the ‘Earl’s Gift’ Demesne, showing lands near the town of Donemana, Co. Tyrone. These lands were colourfully surveyed for the Revd Charles Douglas by Robert Craig in 1830.

A display of materials relating to Disestablishment is also free to view during normal opening hours at the Representative Church Body Library, in Braemor Park.  The library is open Monday–Friday, 9.30am–1pm and 2pm–5pm.
