Smiles say it all at St Anne Trust Come & Sing Day
The smiles and laughter said it all on day two of the St Anne Trust Belfast Primary Schools’ Choir of the Year competition when pupils from two special schools took centre stage!
The Come & Sing Day, hosted by the trust at Belfast Cathedral on May 16, is now in its third year. Once again the choirs of Jordanstown School and Harberton Special School came along to sing and make music.
Led by the talented ladies from Opera NI, the boys and girls took part in a series of music and dance workshops, before performing their two chosen songs. Some of the children relayed the song lyrics through sign language.
Jordanstown Choir sang the very popular ‘A Million Dreams’ and ‘You’ve got a friend’, while Harberton delighted the audience with ‘Flying Machine’ and ‘She’ll be coming round the mountain’.
Congratulations to all the young people involved – it was a truly uplifting morning.
The St Anne Trust was established in 2016 to advance education and promote arts, culture and heritage by promoting good relations with and between young people and their families.
Belfast Cathedral, known locally as St Anne’s, is a Cathedral of the Church of Ireland, serving the two dioceses of Connor and Down & Dromore which cover the city.
