‘Fit for the Purpose’ weekend at Theological Institute

Twenty–five students attended the Church of Ireland Theological Institute’s ‘Fit for the Purpose’ weekend between Friday and Sunday (February 22 to 24). The weekend marks the start of two courses at CITI.

Seventeen people from five dioceses commenced the one year Foundation Course programme while eight people started the fifth cycle of reader training which lasts two years.

The ‘Fit for the Purpose’ weekend focuses on biblical and personal exploration of matters related to vocation.

The main facilitators were Dr Christina Baxter, former Principal of St John’s College, Nottingham and Canon Dr Maurice Elliott, Director of CITI. Also in attendance were the Revd Dr John Tomlinson, Course Director, Jacqui Brown, Course Administrator, Canon Dr Will Murphy and the Revd Ruth Noble.

Participants came from the dioceses of Armagh, Clogher, Derry, Down and Dromore, Connor, Tuam and Cork.
