Gazette marks new monthly format
To mark the publication of the Gazette in its new monthly format Archbishop Richard Clarke was presented with a copy, at St Patrick’s cathedral in Armagh. The presentation took place on Friday 11th January, and the Primate was accompanied by the Dean, Very Rev Gregory Dunstan. The presentation was made by Adrian Clements, Chair of the board of Church of Ireland Press, and Earl Storey (editor).
Archbishop Clarke said, “I wish the Church of Ireland Gazette every success as it sets out on this new path. I believe that this new style of Gazette could indeed be a valuable resource for the Church in the changed times in which we live.”
The Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Michael Jackson, has also commented: “The Church of Ireland Gazette has a long history of reporting and documenting events within the Church of Ireland and throughout the Anglican Communion. It has also served to capture the flavour of the Church of Ireland for both its members and wider society. I wish it well as it continues this role in a new format.”
The Revd Earl Storey, editor of the Gazette, said: “The way we all receive news is constantly developing. We are indebted to those who have produced and supported the Gazette over many years. With a new monthly format, the board of Church of Ireland Press and the Gazette team are aiming to secure the very best future possible for the Gazette.”
Adrian Clements said, “This new venture represents a great team effort by the staff and board of the Gazette. We are confident that the change in format will strengthen the contribution the Gazette makes to the life and witness of the Church.”
