Christmas Message from the Bishop of Connor

In his message for Christmas 2018, the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, reflects on the mess of the world and how Jesus is most present when we are in the mess.

Bishop Alan, who is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, recorded the video at his home. The Bishop is half way through his chemotherapy treatment and says the results have been positive and his prognosis remains very good.

He describes it as ‘a strange journey.’ “It is ironic that I came back from a very special sabbatical having written about Jesus being in the mess of people’s lives to discover that he is also in my mess,” Bishop Alan says.

The Bishop thanks people for their prayers and asks that they continue to pray for him, as he does for them.
