A Service to mark the end of the First World War in a local church

A Service to mark the end of the First World War in a local church

This year Remembrance Sunday marks the centenary of the end of the First World War in 1918, and falls on 11th November. Tying in with the work of the Historical Centenaries Working Group, the Liturgical Advisory Committee has produced a resource to assist those planning Services to mark this centenary. Whilst this is similar in format to previous commemorative provisions, namely a Service of the Word in a local church, it is capable of being integrated into a Eucharistic setting or a more formal civic setting. An Act of Commitment to responsible living and faithful service, and Collects for a commitment to reconciliation, peace in a broken world, and forgiveness are included. This can be downloaded here.
