A plaque has been dedicated at St Macartin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen, in memory of Stewart Scott, a member of the bell–ringing team in the Cathedral for 66 years, serving as Captain for many of those years.

The service on Sunday, 23rd September, was conducted by the Dean, the Very Revd Kenneth Hall, who described Stewart as a very faithful, dedicated and supportive member of the Cathedral and front runner of the bell ringers.

He told the congregation: “Stewart was one of the ringers to ring the bells for Her Majesty, the Queen, before and after her Jubilee Service in this Cathedral. His presence not only in the bell tower but his presence every Sunday in the pew is indeed sadly missed.”

Stewart worked for The Impartial Reporter newspaper for 49 years, serving his apprenticeship in the printing department and reaching the role of Print Supervisor.
