Monday, 20 August – flute & piano

Tuesday, 21 August – flute & guitar

Wednesday, 22 August – piano duo

Thursday, 23 August – cello & piano

In addition, an evening event entitled The Wondrous Machine: SOUNDS SYMPHONIC will be taking place in the Cathedral on 18, 20, 22 & 24 August at 8.00pm.  Admission is free.  This will feature the six organ symphonies of Louis Vierne which were written to showcase the new exciting organs of visionary organ builder Aristide Cavaillé–Coll in 19th Century Paris.

Acknowledged as one of the crowning glories of the repertoire, this Heritage Week you can experience all six of these great works performed across four concerts by Cathedral Organist David Leigh, in memory of Peter Sweeney, former chorister of St Patrick’s and Organist of Christ Church Cathedral.

Sit back and listen as the 4,000 pipes of the Cathedral’s magnificent Willis organ fills the Cathedral. All the action from the organ loft is then relayed via a giant screen in the Nave.
