World Refugee Day: resources for intercession

To mark World Refugee Day, two networks of Churches across Europe have come together to commemorate people who have lost their lives on their way to seek safety and encourage prayer for migrant people.

A joint letter from the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) notes that more than 10,000 people have lost their lives in the Mediterranean in the last three years, and commends search and rescue operations and other efforts to help refugees to arrive safely in Europe.

CCME has also published a booklet of information, intercessions and ideas on the theme of refugee migration which may be used by parishes. More information on its work is available at www.ccme.be
