The topic of the Bishop of Connor’s 2018 Lent Talks was ‘God’s Mission and the Church Today.’

The Rt Rev Alan Abernethy delivered the talks in St Patrick’s, Jordanstown, on March 15 and Lisburn Cathedral on March 20. An earlier seminar, scheduled for March 5 in Bushmills, was cancelled due to the weather.

During the talks, Bishop Alan expressed thanks to his PA, Mrs Rosemary Patterson, who retires later this month, and his words were warmly applauded.

Bishop Alan’s talk focused on his five Marks in Mission, and he suggested ways people can further their own mission.

There was a break for refreshments and fellowship mid–way through the evening, and Bishop Alan responded to a number of questions at the end.
