News from Eco–Congregation Ireland
The November edition of the Eco–Congregation Ireland newsletter highlights events, suggested activities and publications, to help parishes take a greater interest in the environment.
Eco–Congregation’s Climate Justice Candle has visited the Carrigaline Union of Parishes and St Anne’s Church, Shandon, in County Cork. The Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory has run its 9th annual Eco Competition for parishes and national schools. One of the winners, the Sunday Club in the Carlow Union of Parishes, has embarked on a project to be a welcoming parish for all God’s creation by promoting the well–being of birds and pollinators in the grounds of its churches. The newsletter also highlights the Bishops’ Appeal’s support for those affected by environmental crises internationally, including in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and the Caribbean region.
Eco–Congregation Ireland is an initiative of the Irish Inter Church Meeting, and includes members from the Roman Catholic Church, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church and Religious Society of Friends.
