General Synod 2017 Closes in Limerick

General Synod 2017 has drawn to a close in the South Court Hotel in Limerick. The Archdeaon of Belfast proposed that the motion that the Journal of General Synod 2017 be produced.

He also outlined the attendance over three days: Thursday – 388; Friday – 404; Saturday – 290.

The Archbishop of Armagh thanked all who had made the conduct of synod so easy including the Honorary Secretaries and mentioned former Honorary Secretary Sam Harpur for his service. He thanked the staff of Church House. Two members of Church House, June Howard and Sandra Massey, who are retiring in the summer were wished every happiness in the future.

The Archbishop thanked his episcopal colleagues and the Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe and the people of the diocese for the wonderful welcome they had given and the Dean of Killaloe for leading worship every day.

Synod closed with final prayer and blessing by the Dean.
