Day Two of General Synod Underway in Limerick

The General Synod of the Church of Ireland continues this morning (Friday May 5) in the South Court Hotel in Limerick. Following morning devotions led by the Very Revd Gary Paulsen, Dean of Killaloe & Clonfert, Archbishop Richard Clarke welcomed members back. Proceedings continued with formal business and communications.

Among the items on the agenda this morning is the report of the Board of Education. This will be followed later by the Report of the Council for Mission which includes an informal session on ‘Celebrating our Communities’ looking at some Church of Ireland parishes seeking to serve their neighbours. In the afternoon the report of the Representative Church Body will be presented as well as the report from the Select Committee on Human Sexuality in the Context of Christian Belief.

Reports and information, including a summary of business done, will be posted daily during Synod on the Synod website: https://synod.ireland.anglican.org/2017/general-synod-2017

There will be an audio broadcast during Synod and a Twitter feed using the hashtag #coigs. This hashtag will also be used for Facebook and Instagram as well as other social media outlets.
