Day 2 of Bishops’ Walk

Day 2 of Bishops’ Walk

It’s day two of Bishop Ken Good and Bishop Donal McKeown’s three–day joint pilgrimage from Gartan to St Augustine’s Church in Londonderry. The church leaders are walking all the way to promote reconciliation and highlight their shared Columban heritage. They’ve been meeting and talking with people en route.

Yesterday’s first leg – ‘From Cross to Cross’ – took them from St Columba’s birthplace in Gartan to Conwall Church of Ireland in Letterkenny. The bishops set off this morning from nearby St Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny (having received a Columban blessing from the Bishop of Raphoe Philip Boyce) and the second leg – ‘From Church to Church’ – ends at St Aengus’ Church in Burt. The third and final day, ‘From Country to Town’, will take the bishops from Burt to St Augustine’s – the ‘Wee Church on the Walls’.
