Magheracross Parish Church hosted the annual Celebration of Sport and Faith with Ballinamallard United Football Club on Sunday evening, for the third year.

Ballinamallard’s Club Chaplain, Archdeacon Brian Harper, adopted the theme ‘Fit for Purpose’.

The event included interviews with assistant coach, Andy Crawford about his involvement with a trip to Zambia with Ambassadors in Sport and John Kee, Director of the youth festival Summer Madness, which will be marking its 30th anniversary this year with a cycle from the original festival site at Castle Archdale to the current location at Glenarm.

Also taking part were Danske Bank Premiership players, Niall Owen and Shane McCabe (Assistant Captain) and Lorna McHugh.

The Archdeacon said the event had quickly become a firm fixture in the community diary and has attracted the support of several local sporting clubs beyond football.
