The Revd Jacob Christopher Dodd Worley was Instituted to the Kilmoremoy Union of Parishes during A Service of the Word in St Michael’s Church, Ballina on 25 October 2013.

Jake, a native of New Mexico, USA, comes to Tuam, Killala & Achonry from his previous post as Interim Priest in Canada. He is married to Kelly and they have five children, three of whom made the move to Ireland.

The Service was led Canon Kathy Trimby of Tubbercurry Parish and the scriptures were read by Miss Zara Walker, Mr. Norman Reid and Revd. Andrea Wills. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Killala, Bishop John Fleming, led the large congregation of parishioners, friends and colleagues in the opening Collects.

In his address which was centred on the theme of ‘Expectations’, Bishop Patrick Rooke chose as his text Micah 6:8 ‘He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’

After the service, the congregation and local dignitaries availed of the opportunity to welcome Revd Jake and his family at a reception held in the Newman Institute in Ballina.
