Advent Prayers for Peace
A message from the Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, the Rt Revd Dr Paul Colton:
At our recent Prayers for Peace in St Fin Barre’s Cathedral led by young people of Cork Diocesan Youth Council we had compiled a list of the tragically too many places in the world where there are wars, conflict or unrest due to terrorism.
The Reverend Meghan Farr and Stephen Spillane of St Anne’s Church, Shandon, in Cork took up the idea and devised the attached Advent Calendar.
So far, nearly 10,000 people on social media alone have engaged with it.
I share it with you and invite you to continue on the Advent journey with us using this Advent Calendar – no chocolate or other treats – just prayers for peace in some of the most challenging and deprived places in the world.
