Archbishops lead service of prayer and reflection for Ukraine

On Friday, 24th February 2023, at 1pm the two Archbishops of Armagh, the Most Revd John McDowell and the Most Revd Eamon Martin, led a service of prayer and reflection in the very centre of Armagh, in the Market Place, on what was the first anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.

The Archbishops were joined by members of local churches and schools and representatives of the Ukrainian community who have now made Armagh their home.  Prayers for peace and reconciliation were offered and a time of quiet reflection and remembrance was observed as the devastating impact of a year of conflict was recalled.

A selection of photos from the service is provided below, with thanks to Janet Forbes (Archdiocese of Armagh).
