Statement following rally for Natalie McNally

Statement following rally for Natalie McNally

Following Saturday’s rally, Bishop David McClay and the rectors of our two Lurgan parishes have issued a statement of support for the McNally family and their quest for justice:

It was moving to gather with so many people in Lurgan Park on Saturday, standing with the family of Natalie McNally, whose life and that of her unborn son Dean were so brutally extinguished just before Christmas. It is so important to keep her family’s quest for justice in the public consciousness and for us all to oppose violence against women and girls in all its forms. We therefore call on the Church of Ireland community in Lurgan and in the wider diocese of Down and Dromore to:

  • Pray for the McNally family in their grief and in their search for justice.
  • Support the PSNI investigation in any way possible – even with the most seemingly insignificant detail.
  • Oppose violence against women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world.

Bishop David McClay (Diocese of Down and Dromore)

Canon Mark Harvey (Shankill Parish, Lurgan)

Revd Raymond Kettyle (St John’s Parish, Lurgan)
