Belfast Black Santa 2022 grant applications open

Closing date: 25th November 2022

Charities across Northern Ireland are invited to submit applications for funding raised through the 46th Black Santa Sit–out which will take place at St Anne’s Cathedral this Christmas.

The Black Santa tradition was started in 1976 by Dean Sammy Crooks and carried on through the decades by the successive Deans of Belfast.

The current Black Santa, Dean Stephen Forde, said: “This year, to increase the impact of our support for local charities, we invite applications from those registered charities whose annual income was £150,000 or less in 2021.”

Dean Forde said that due to the current cost of living crisis, he especially welcomes applications from registered charities supporting the most disadvantaged families and individuals in the community and charities working directly with refugee communities settling in Northern Ireland.
