Archbishop John McDowell extends best wishes to new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland

From the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, the Most Revd John McDowell:

‘I extend my best wishes to the new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton–Harris MP, and assure him and his family of the prayers of the Church of Ireland as he takes up this new appointment.  From his recent time as Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, he will have an understanding of the differing nuances and perspectives on the Protocol and the related issues for Northern Ireland and our island as a whole.  I trust that he will work for the common good for all who live and work here, and will make progress on helping to build good relationships between neighbours in the region and across Britain and Ireland.’
