From midnight this morning (Thursday, 14th April), Bishop Michael Burrows has become the first Bishop of the Dioceses of Tuam, Limerick and Killaloe, on his translation from Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.
For the first time since 2019 all are welcome to join the Archbishops of Dublin, Archbishop Michael Jackson and Archbishop Dermot Farrell, as they carry the cross from Christ Church Cathedral to St Mary’s Pro–Cathedral.  The Walk of Witness begins in Christ Church at 7pm with a short time of prayer and reflection with the two Archbishops. They will then lead participants from the cathedral, down Dame Street to College Green and Westmoreland Street to O’Connell Street before turning down Talbot Street towards the Pro–Cathedral where there will also be a short service.

The afternoon of Sunday 10 April saw a special event to celebrate the ‘Lighten our Darkness’ initiative in All Saints Church, Mullingar. The project originated and is driven by young people, both from Mullingar Union and pupils from Wilson’s Hospital school.  ‘Lighten Our Darkness’ addresses the challenge of climate change. Describing the project Canon Alastair Graham, rector of Mullingar Union of parishes, said: “Young people are looking at the issue of climate change through the lens of Christian faith. We are simply stepping up to the plate as stewards of God’s creation.”
