Easter Message from the Archbishop of Dublin

The Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson

Easter Message from the Archbishop of Dublin

Easter 2022 brings us through Covid–19 but not out the other side. Easter 2022 also brings us into the theatre of war that is Ukraine and sets us alongside the suffering and degradation of millions of other people the world over whom we must not forget.

Where do we look for hope in The Scriptures and in the life of Jesus Christ in these times? Memory, not forgetting, is the hallmark of the first interchange of Easter between the Risen Lord Jesus and Mary. Memory, not forgetting, is our invitation to discipleship and empathy with those in need who are unknown to us.

Our invitation at Easter 2022 is to share hope in seemingly impossible human situations where Jesus still dies and rises again.
