New Assistant Archivist joins the RCB Library

Aisling Irwin has joined the Representative Church Body Library’s team as Assistant Archivist on an 18–month contract.  Aisling, who took up her new role on Monday (21st March), holds a BA in History from NUI Maynooth and is a qualified archivist, having completed a Master’s Degree at University College Dublin.

As well as assisting in all aspects of the Library’s archival remit, Aisling will focus on preparing parish registers of baptisms, marriages and burials for the state–funded digitization project currently under way.

Her previous archival experience has been working as a Digitisation Assistant on the artists’ collections at the National Gallery of Ireland, and in a voluntary capacity at Offaly Archives. She is a member of the Archives and Records Association UK and Ireland.
