St Luke’s Home in Cork reaches 150–year milestone
Saint Luke’s Home, a residential care home in Cork for older people which also established Ireland’s first specialist unit for people living with dementia, marked the start of its 150th anniversary year yesterday, 1st March 2022.
Collecting for Ukraine in Aghanloo
A young parishioner from Aghanloo parish near Limavady has launched an appeal to support children displaced from their homes in Ukraine. Megan is asking for coats, scarves, blankets, hats and toy teddy bears to be left at the local Rectory. The appeal will continue until Friday, 11th March, after which the items collected will be sent to Ukraine with the help of one of the designated charities working in the region. Cork, Cloyne and Ross makes diocesan visit to Lichfield
As part of the existing link between the Diocese of Lichfield and the United Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, Bishop Paul Colton was invited by the Bishop of Lichfield and the Dean of Lichfield to preach at Lichfield Cathedral last Sunday, 27th February 2022, to mark the 1350th anniversary of the death of St Chad, the Patron Saint of Lichfield Cathedral.
First talk for ‘A fresh LUKE’ series
On this Ash Wednesday, we join Bishop David McClay for the first in his Lent series for 2022, A fresh LUKE. Luke 1:1–4. The gospel writer believes that the story of Jesus is certain truth and can be passed on with confidence. The full series will be available here.
