Diocese of Armagh’s Hospice Appeal raises over £21,000

The Annual Hospice Sunday Appeal in the Diocese of Armagh has been taking place since 2014. The initiative was the concept of the Revd Matthew Hagan, Rector of Tynan, Aghavilly and Middletown Group of Parishes in Co. Armagh and to date the appeal has raised over £200,000 for hospice care. Amazingly in 2021, during the Covid–19 pandemic when Church of Ireland churches were closed for periods of time, the magnificent amount of £21,670 was contributed to the Annual Hospice Sunday Appeal in the diocese by many of the parishes.

MindMatters’ Champion Andrew shares thoughts on mental health

Andrew Brooking, a parishioner of St Patrick’s, Ballymoney, is a MindMatters CoI Champion and in this capacity has written an article on mental health for the Diocese of Connor’s website.  Andrew has recently completed the Certificate in Christian Theology and Practice (CCTP) course at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute.

Dubliners’ generous donations distributed to Black Santa charities

Fifteen local charities got a welcome financial boost at the ‘Black Santa Service’ in St Ann’s, Dawson Street, on Sunday (13th February). A record total of €45,000 was donated to the annual Black Santa Appeal outside St Ann’s just before Christmas. Every cent was given directly to the charities.

Simon Guillebaud to join Down and Dromore for St Patrick’s Day

The Diocese of Down and Dromore is delighted to announce that Simon Guillebaud will speak on the theme of Radical Discipleship, Radical Mission at its St Patrick’s Day Festival Service on Thursday, 17th March.   Simon is the founder and International Director of the Great Lakes Outreach which is working to bring transformation to the people of Burundi in Central Africa. The author of several books, he has a large social media following and shares frequently on challenging and radical topics.
