A tour of the Church of Ireland in photos – Day 1
The 2021 meeting of our General Synod was originally due to take place this week, from Thursday to Saturday, but has subsequently been moved to Thursday, 30th September, to Saturday, 2nd October, when it will again meet online.
In its place, over the next few days, photos from around the Church will be shared on our news pages to give readers a broader picture of the mission and ministry of the Church of Ireland across our island. Today, we bring you views from the following three dioceses, and a brief summary of each one.
Just click on each photo below and select the arrow on the right hand side of the first photo to keep browsing. We hope you enjoy them, and feel free to visit our Flickr page to browse our full collection.
The Diocese of Armagh extends from Magherafelt (Co. Londonderry) to Drogheda (Co. Louth), crosses the border, and covers most of the county of its name. The diocese is led by the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.
The Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory covers the south–eastern corner of Ireland, including Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Carlow.
The Diocese of Clogher crosses the border and comprises most of Co. Fermanagh and all of Co. Monaghan.
