December & Christmas Opening Times

Please note the Library will close for Christmas on Friday, 23rd December at 1pm. It will re–open on Tuesday, 3rd January 2023, at 9.30am.

In addition to the times above, please note that the Library will also be closed at the following times in December:

Friday, 2nd December from 1pm.

Friday, 9th December from 1pm.

Wednesday 14th December, 9.30am–2pm.

The printed collection in the Library is open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday, with the Library closing for lunch from 1pm to 2pm. Members may visit to browse, borrow, and return print items.

Additionally, for the general public, as it is no longer possible to facilitate unscheduled visitors, and to avoid any disappointment, visitors wishing to view archives and manuscripts must have a pre–booked seat in the reading room in advance of their visit, through a new online booking system. Further information about the Booking System is provided here

Membership

Membership of the Library is open to laity as well as clergy: the completion of an application form signed by an approved referee, and the payment of the subscription (currently €5.00 per year or €40.00 for life) entitles members to borrow books.

Books can be sent by post, the borrower being responsible for all postage involved.
