The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Revd James Moore, today expressed his
"deep concern" at recent attacks in West Belfast, including
attacks on hospital staff.
Bishop Moore said: 'There can be no justification for the continuing
attacks on people and on houses, properties and institutions. In
particular the attacks on personnel at the Royal Victoria Hospital causing
fear and anxiety among both staff and patients is deeply concerning.
'No community can afford to have violence directed at hospitals, social
services centres, ambulances, fire brigades and police. These are services
provided for everyone's good and to save and protect lives.
'It is time for those concerned to step back from violent acts and
allow those working for the good of our local communities to do their
work.' |
