BELFAST CATHEDRALS' PRAYER SERVICE FOR AMERICA

12th September 2001

A Prayer Service for America is to be held in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast next Saturday, 15 September, at 1pm.

Dean Houston McKelvey and Monsignor Tom Toner of St Peter’s Cathedral, Belfast will conduct the Service.

Two Books of Condolence will be opened in each Cathedral and later these will be sent to the Cathedrals in New York - the Anglican Cathedral of St John the Divine and the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St Patrick.

The Prayer Service will be particularly poignant for the Choir of St Anne’s who visited New York in July and sang at both the Cathedrals as well as visiting the World Trade Centre.

St Anne’s and St Peter’s form the Belfast Cathedral Partnership and have worked together for many years.

All are welcome to attend and to show solidarity with our many friends in America.
